🔹NITI Aayog partnership with the institute of competitiveness released with the institute of the Exports Preparedness Index report 2020.


Gujrat has topped the overall NITI Aayog's Export Preparedness Index 2020 followed by Maharashtra and
Tamilnadu in the second and third place. 

• Among the landlocked states Rajsthan has performed best in the index followed by Telangana and Haryana second and third place respectively. 

• Among the Himalayan states Uttrakhand has topped the index followed by Tripura and Himachal pradesh second and third place according to publiced report NITI Aayog . 

• Across the union territories Delhi has performed best in the index followed by Goa and Chandigarh se]cond and third placed respectively.

•NITI Aayog stated In the report that Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh are two land locked states that had initiated several measures to promoting exports.  

• According to the report released, six coastal states Gujarat, Maharashtra, Tamilnadu, Odisha, karnataka and Kerala made the top 10 rankings in exports.

• According to the NITI Aayog report india's per capita export are USD 241, compared to South korea's USD 11,900 and China's USD 18,000.

India merchandise exports have witnessed growth USD 275.9 billion in 2016 - 2017 to USD 331.0 billion 2019-2020

• The report noted that other states facing similar socio-economic challenge can look at the measure taking by Chhattisgarh and Jharkhand and try to implement them to grow their exports.

• NITI Aayog CEO Amitabhkant said rapid growth of exports is a crucial component for long term economic growth, adding that a favourable ecosystem enable a country to contribute significantly to gloval value chains and reap the benefits of integrated production network globally.

• Speaking at the launch of the report NITI Aayog vice chairman Rajiv kumar said that export is the integral part of Atmnirbhar Bharat and the country will have to keep striving to increase the share exports in GDP and world trade.
